This device serves as a “combiner” or injector. Its primary job is to take a precise reference timing signal (10 MHz) and DC power, and “multiplex” (combine) them onto a coaxial cable to be sent to outdoor satellite equipment.
Here is a breakdown of the labels and connections visible on the unit:
10 MHz In / Out: This refers to a high-precision reference clock signal. Satellite equipment (like LNBs and BUCs) needs a stable 10 MHz signal to lock onto frequencies accurately. This module distributes or injects that signal.
Mux Tee: This stands for “Multiplex Bias Tee.” A Bias Tee is a circuit that allows you to send DC power and RF signals (and in this case, a 10 MHz reference) down the same coaxial cable.
LNB/BUC DC In: This is where you plug in the power supply. The module then sends this power out to the LNB (Low Noise Block – the receiver on the dish) or the BUC (Block Upconverter – the transmitter on the dish).
OSC DC In: This likely powers the internal “Master Oscillator” (the clock) itself
